Following Spain’s 2-1 victory over Denmark on Friday, which secured their victory in their UEFA Nations League division, it was disclosed that Martin Zubimendi, Alex Baena, and Mikel Oyarzabal would be departing Luis de la Fuente’s squad.

The former pair sustained injuries in Copenhagen, and while they are not anticipated to be severe, they will not be eligible to face Switzerland on Monday.

In the event that Oyarzabal is suspended for the match on Monday, it is only natural that he also relinquishes his position in the squad.

The Spanish Football Federation has announced that there will be only one additional call-up, Pablo Barrios, to compensate for the three departures.

Zubimendi is succeeded by the Atletico Madrid midfielder in de la Fuente’s squad. Barrios had been a member of the U21s until Friday; however, he has been elevated to the senior squad.

He will have the opportunity to make his La Roja debut on Monday, following in the footsteps of his fellow midfielder, Marc Casado, who did so against Denmark.
