Eddie Howe gave a report on Alexander Isak’s injury after the striker missed Saturday’s 4–4 draw against Luton Town. Isak is out for Newcastle United.

Alexander Isak might miss “a couple of games” for Newcastle United after not playing in the 4–4 draw with Luton Town on Saturday.

So says head coach Eddie Howe, who gave a short report on Isak’s injury after the striker had to leave Tuesday night’s game against Aston Villa. At first, it was said that the 24-year-old would be out for two to four weeks. However, assistant boss Jason Tindall said that the player might be able to play against Luton on Saturday.

In the end, Isak wasn’t involved, and Howe said the Swedish player wasn’t even close to playing. After missing the game against Luton, he might not be able to play in the next two against Nottingham Forest and AFC Bournemouth.

Howe told BBC Newcastle, “He wasn’t close.” “We don’t think he’s got a serious injury but it might keep him out for a couple of games but hopefully we can get him back pretty quickly.”

Last season, Newcastle beat Nottingham Forest 2-1 at the City Ground thanks to two goals from Isak, one of which was a penalty kick in extra time. It would be great for The Magpies if he wasn’t there.

Anthony Gordon, a winger who was taken off with a twisted ankle, is another player who might not be able to play in the next games.

Howe said, “I don’t know how bad it is, but it hurt enough for him to have to take it off.” “He made that choice because he knew he couldn’t go on.”

“Of course, we hope it’s not bad.” We missed him when he got taken off because he’s such an important player for us.
