31-year-old sport journalist Fabrizio Romano delivers the lastest transfer news on Newcastle United target Tosin Adarabioyo and Lloyd Kelly ahead of summer transfer window
Fabrizio Romano has provided a significant update on two Newcastle United players who have been linked with transfers to St. James’ Park.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Newcastle United’s pursuit of Fulham defender Tosin Adarabioyo and Bournemouth’s Lloyd Kelly is “advancing.” Both players are anticipated to depart their current clubs as free agents this summer, and the Magpies have been strongly linked with both players in an effort to strengthen their defensive alternatives on a budget.
The two, who have a combined 43 Premier League appearances this season, would provide Newcastle’s defense with top-flight experience without incurring any transfer fees and in opposition to the Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability Rules. In a post on X, Romano informed supporters of Newcastle’s progress toward signing free agents Lloyd Kelly and Tosin Adarabioyo, stating, “Newcastle are nearly there in their pursuit to sign both Kelly and Adarabioyo.”
That was a quote tweet in response to a 13 May post by him that read: “Newcastle are planning to sign Lloyd Kelly regardless of the timing for the club’s new director to join — Eddie Howe has already approved this priority target.” Additionally, Howe desires Tosin Adarabioyo, and the #NUFC are optimistic that both transactions will be finalized early in the summer transfer window.
Should Newcastle United successfully finalize agreements for Adarabioyo and Kelly, the club will have additional capital available during the summer transfer window to bolster other aspects of its roster. In contrast to January, when they only acquired Alfie Harrison from Manchester City, the Magpies are anticipated to be considerably more active during this transfer window.
