Manchester United and Manchester City have both had rough starts to the 2025–2026 Premier League seasons.
The much-anticipated match between the two teams is on Sunday. After three games, Pep Guardiola’s team is one point behind United, while Ruben Amorim’s team has only four points.
City might be without two important players for the game at the Etihad Stadium because Omar Marmoush hurt his knee and Rayan Cherki hurt his thigh and will be out for two months.
Spurs beat Manchester City 2-0 at the Etihad Stadium, so the City fans will be desperate not to lose another point in two home games in a row.
Peter Crouch thinks that Manchester City will beat Manchester United.
In the last few years, Manchester City has been the favourite every time they’ve played Manchester United. However, United just beat Burnley 3-2, while City lost to Brighton 2-1.
There may not be much good news for the Sky Blues. Erling Haaland scored five goals against Moldova, and Bernardo Silva also scored against Hungary.
The former Liverpool striker said on The Peter Crouch Podcast, “I think this is a good game for City.” He was betting that Manchester City would beat Manchester United. For example, Burnley at home could be a problem. Do you get what I mean?”
“I think that’s a tough game for them, especially at home.” The crowd is behind them even if they’re not winning. Going to City, on the other hand, I don’t think you’ll win, no matter how bad it sounds for a Manchester Derby.
“I think you can go get a good result. If you get a good result, I think the whole attitude could change.”
“I’m going to go 3-1, Man City,” Peter Crouch finally said when asked if he thought Manchester City would beat Manchester United.
The last five times Man City played Manchester United at home
So far, Crouch’s prediction looks good for Chelsea. They need to win big to show that they have what it takes to win the Premier League title this season.
The Red Devils played well against Burnley, but their defence let a lot of goals through. Fulham and Arsenal have shown this season that Ruben Amorim and his team have a lot of room to improve.
Manchester City and Manchester United’s recent games show how close their upcoming match could be. The game is set to take place at the Etihad Stadium.
City has won three of their last five games, while United has won two.
This means that Peter Crouch’s guess could very well be right, but it’s always hard to tell who wins when Manchester City and Manchester United are playing.
