Man Utd begins negotiations to secure the “next Martin Odegaard”.
Journalist Graeme Bailey has reported that Manchester United has initiated discussions regarding the acquisition of Norwegian talent Sverre Nypan in order to compete with Premier League rivals Manchester City for the 17-year-old’s signature. The Red Devils are reportedly optimistic about the possibility of negotiating a deal with Rosenborg to acquire the highly sought-after midfielder, whose promising performances have led to comparisons to his countryman, Martin Odegaard. Nypan has been on United’s radar for an extended period, and discussions regarding his presence at Old Trafford are expected to intensify in the coming weeks, according to Bailey. Nypan is regarded as one of the most promising midfield prospects in Europe, despite his youth, as he has already made over 50 senior appearances for Rosenborg. Nypan, who will become 18 in December, has recently garnered interest from some of the most prestigious clubs on the continent due to his exceptional technical abilities and creative abilities, which have caused quite a stir. Sverre Nypan is the subject of Man United’s attention.
Since Nypan was 15, United has been monitoring him, according to Bailey. However, they may now be competing with other European clubs for his signature, as Man City, Bayer Leverkusen, Borussia Dortmund, and Marseille are also intrigued. According to reports in Norway, recruiters from both Man United and Bayer were recently dispatched to observe Nypan in action during Rosenborg’s 1-1 draw at Lillestrom in order to gain a more comprehensive understanding of the dynamic midfielder. Nypan himself acknowledged shortly after the news was disclosed that the presence of officials from United and Leverkusen did not particularly captivate him, as he was preoccupied with regaining his complete fitness following his recovery from an illness. Nypan has been a critical member of Rosenborg this season, contributing six goals and six assists in 22 Eliteserien appearances. He is presently the club’s second-highest goalscorer in the competition.
In addition to Nypan, it is believed that Man United is also monitoring Martin Baturina, a prospect for Dinamo Zagreb. According to reports from Croatia, the Red Devils prioritize the 21-year-old.
