Liverpool has welcomed Barcelona HERO back to first-team training. New signing Rio Ngumoha is making waves in the under-18s setup, while

standout players like Tyler Morton and Trey Nyoni have already been included in first-team squads for Champions League matchdays. Allowing players to train with the first team has been a critical component of youth development, as it provides them with the opportunity to experience the quality levels that are essential for their progression. Furthermore, Oakley Cannonier joined them. Cannonier’s inclusion is noteworthy because the young striker was sidelined for the entirety of 2024 due to injury before eventually making a comeback to play the first half against Manchester United under-21 a fortnight ago.

This resulted in one of Liverpool’s most significant moments, as Trent observed Origi unmarked in the box. Tottenham was defeated by Liverpool in the Champions League final that year. The 20-year-old was exhibiting significant potential prior to his injury. In the 2021/22 season, he scored 28 goals and provided five assists in 26 games for the under-18 team. He subsequently scored 10 goals in 11 games upon transitioning to the under-21s team in 2022/23, including seven in four games in the UEFA Youth League, which is their equivalent of the Champions League. However, he was unable to participate in two of the final 22 games of the season due to injury. His return to under-21 competition was similarly brevity last season, as he participated in only one game since October 2023. Nevertheless, the staff is exercising caution with regard to Cannonier this season, as his three goals in seven appearances that season did not suggest a significant decline in his abilities. Additionally, this is not the first instance in which the adolescent has participated in training sessions with the first team. Everything indicates that the club regards the stratosphere as the limit for the striker.
