Chris Sutton’s immediate response as Rangers miss the opportunity to reduce the distance between
them and Celtic in the match against Kilmarnock Rangers was afforded the ideal opportunity to reduce the gap between the two clubs at the summit of the table following Celtic’s draw with Aberdeen. Rangers was six points behind Celtic at the summit of the Scottish Premiership table prior to today’s away trip to Kilmarnock, with a significant goal difference advantage of +13 in favor of the Scottish champions. A match against Derek McInnes’ struggling Kilmarnock presented the ideal opportunity to reduce the distance to just three points. However, after the Ibrox club suffered a 1-0 defeat at Rugby Park, Chris Sutton lambasted them for failing to capitalize on the opportunity to re-enter the title race. Kilmarnock’s “superbly organized” nature is praised by Sutton, as Celtic widen the gap to Rangers. Sutton took to social media to provide his immediate reaction to Rangers’ loss to Kilmarnock while on punditry duty for Sky Sports. As is customary for the Celtic icon, he did not disappoint.
Sutton stated, “Rangers were truly killed.” Kilmarnock, you did an excellent job. 👏👏 An exceptionally disciplined and organized performance. The gap at the summit is widened by Celtic and Aberdeen… Compared to Rangers, Celtic’s subsequent three Scottish Premiership encounters Celtic’s subsequent three fixtures include a challenging away voyage to Motherwell next Sunday and a 7:45pm kick-off against Dundee at Celtic Park on October 30, as previously mentioned on 67 Hail Hail.
