When a player from Al Hilal tried to tackle him, Cristiano Ronaldo came up with a humorous response.

In Friday’s inaugural Riyadh derby of the season, Al Nassr and Al Hilal squared off at the King Fahd International Stadium.

With the home team trailing Al Nassr in the league rankings going into the match, tensions were high.

Anger and hostility were palpable on the field in the first half when one Al Hilal player appeared to challenge Ronaldo to a confrontation.

Furiously gesticulating at the Portuguese star, Ali Al-Bulayhi squared up to the five-time Ballon d’Or winner.

The reaction that Cristiano Ronaldo gives to the 'unknown' Al Hilal player who is attempting to fight him is really comical.

Ronaldo put his palm to his ear and coolly gestured that he could not hear Al-Bulayhi’s taunts in response, as seen in the clip below.

On X, formerly known as Twitter, fans wasted no time weighing in on the incident.

Someone tweeted, “Unknown guy tryna beef with Ronaldo.”

One more person shouted, “Who is that clown?”

An additional person wrote: “It’s always the ones that have like 10k followers and are unknown and do this to get Messi fans love.”

As a fourth joker put it, “He wanted a pic with Ronaldo.”

In addition, it was widely reported that Al-Bulayhi had gotten into a fight with Lionel Messi during the 2015 FIFA World Cup in Qatar, where Saudi Arabia famously defeated Argentina, the eventual champions of the tournament.

Al Hilal emerged victorious in the Riyadh derby with a 3-0 scoreline, with to goals from Sergej Milinković-Savić and two from Aleksandar Mitrović, a former Fulham striker.

Meanwhile, an extremely close offside ruling denied Ronaldo a wonder strike, and in injury time, Al-Bulayhi was sent out for disobedience.

After this victory, Al Hilal now leads Al Nassr by seven points in the Saudi Pro League.
