After Anthony Gordon new ‘long-term’ deal the super star sends a direct message to Newcastle United fans and gives his answer over liverpool interest
Anthony Gordon has finally signed a new deal with Newcastle United.
The club has given Gordon a new “long-term” deal at St. James’ Park. The 23-year-old moved from Everton to Newcastle for £45 million in January 2023. In 74 games, he has scored 15 goals and set up 11 others, and he has also made the England senior team.
Gordon was named Newcastle’s player of the season for 2023–24. In the summer, Liverpool was interested in signing him as a move away became more likely because of the Premier League’s Profitability and Sustainability Rules. But the player has signed a new deal with the club at St. James’ Park, which is what he hinted at last month.
At the end of the 1-1 draw with Manchester City, Gordon told Premier League Productions, “I don’t need to be convinced to stay here.” For a long time, I’ve been looking forward to signing the deal. It proves my unwavering dedication to the club!”
Grant told the club website, “I just think the club’s in a great place” now that the deal is real. It’s only gone up since the takeover. I and the boss play the same way, so we get along great. “I love this place.”
Gordon was quick to say that he wanted to do well at the club, which is one reason he agreed to a new deal. Newcastle needs to live up to those goals.
“I’m here to win a trophy and I’m very happy here. I like living here and the team is perfect for me,” he said. “In short, we need to get a trophy.” It would be amazing to win a prize here after all the fans have been waiting. A huge goal of mine is to be on the team that finally does it.
“Being from Georgia, my family and I have always felt at home because the people there are so friendly and easy to talk to. They always want the best for you.” I believe it’s very simple to come and live there. I feel very close to my teammates, the fans, and everyone else engaged.
Eddie Howe, the head coach of Newcastle, said of the new deal, “I’m delighted Anthony has committed his future to the club.” Along with becoming a better person, he has grown as a player at Newcastle United. He has also continued to show how good he is on the biggest stages.
“He works hard to improve himself and the team. When you combine that with the quality of his plays and his incredibly high work rate, it’s easy to see why our fans feel so close to him.”
“Anthony has even more to offer, and I’m excited for him and us.”
The club announced last week that Dan Burn was signed until 2026 after an extra was added to a deal that was signed last summer. But Gordon’s contract is the first big one Newcastle has signed since July, when Paul Mitchell was hired as sports director.
Mitchell said, “Anthony is a great player who has a lot of room to grow.” It makes us all very happy that he wants to be a part of Newcastle United’s journey.
“Our staff has done a great job developing his skills and helping him get better, and Anthony deserves a lot of praise for always pushing himself to do better and reach his goals.”
“Taking care of, rewarding, and keeping our talented young players is a key part of building long-term success, and Anthony is a big part of our plan to reach our lofty goals.”
After hearing that he signed a new deal with Newcastle United, Anthony Gordon took to social media.
Gordon signed a new “long-term” deal at St. James’ Park. In response to the news, he shared a picture of himself on Instagram with head coach Eddie Howe, sporting director Paul Mitchell, and himself at the Newcastle United Training Center.
“I’m so happy to have signed a new long-term deal.” It’s been a pleasure to play for this club since the day I signed.
“So many great memories so far, and still so much more to do.”
Gordon moved from Everton to Newcastle for £45 million in January 2023. He has since played 74 times for the club, scoring 15 goals and setting up 11 others. For the 2023–24 season, he was named The Magpies’ player of the season.
In June, Gordon was linked with a move to Liverpool. This deal comes after that. Liverpool and Newcastle talked about Gordon, but a deal never came together because the Magpies were trying to sign the player to a new contract.
When Liverpool midfielder Curtis Jones heard the news, he sent Gordon a message saying, “Congrats brother, well deserved.”
Good friends Jones and Gordon have known each other since they were kids. They were both born in Liverpool and played for England as kids and quickly moved up the ranks together.
