Vinicius Jr. breaks his silence with a cryptic post, as Rodri secures the Ballon d’Or following a
boycott.Vinicius Jr., the hero of Real Madrid, has responded to Rodri’s victory in the 2024 Ballon d’Or competition. The Brazilian was not present at the ceremony in Paris, as Real Madrid elected to boycott the presentations in protest after discovering that their forward was not eligible for the top prize. Jude Bellingham, his club teammate, placed third, while the 24-year-old concluded in second place. Erling Haaland was ranked fifth, while Dani Carvajal, a third Madrid player, was ranked fourth. Vinicius Jr posted a cryptic message on social media shortly after the Manchester City and Spain player was announced as the victor. He wrote on X, “I will perform it ten times if necessary.” “They’re not ready.”
He did not provide any clarification regarding his intentions; however, the statements of Aurelien Tchouameni, another Real player, appeared to emphasize the club’s dissatisfaction. He responded by composing the following: “Nothing will detract from the accomplishments you have made, my brother.” It is universally acknowledged that… They are not prepared for the content you are about to present. I am in love. The Champions League and La Liga holders had not sent any representatives to France; this information was disclosed mere hours prior to the commencement of the ceremony. “If the award criteria doesn’t give it to Vinicius as the winner, then those same criteria should point to Carvajal as the winner,” a representative of the club informed AFP. “It is evident that Ballon d’Or-UEFA does not respect Real Madrid, as this was not the case.” Real Madrid does not travel to areas where it is not respected. The organizers altered the policy for this year’s ceremony, maintaining the winner’s identity under wraps until the on-stage announcement. However, Real’s boycott resulted in some awkward moments, as no one was present to receive their Men’s Club of the Year award.
