Barcelona’s star player was absent from training due to a muscle injury.
In the midst of preparations for the Derbi Barceloní this weekend, Barcelona is still without a significant
member of its first-team. According to Mundo Deportivo, Eric García is the player in issue. Eric, on the other hand, has been incapacitated since earlier this month due to a last-minute withdrawal from the pre-match warm-up for Barcelona’s match against The Spaniard was consequently excluded from Hansi Flick’s squad for the midweek match against Bayern Munich and the rout of Real Madrid last weekend. Eric was observed returning to the group while the Blaugrana’s stars were undergoing their post-Clásico recuperation session, which raised the possibility that he would be granted the medical clearance to face Espanyol this Sunday.
Consequently, the former Manchester City player’s absence from group activities on Wednesday has come as a surprise. According to Mundo Deportivo’s report: Eric Garcia had not yet participated in a session that was conducted by Hansi Flick. The Martorell native has not yet fully recovered from the physical issues he encountered during the warm-up for the match against Sevilla. Nevertheless, there is a glimmer of hope that Eric will ultimately be deemed suitable to participate in the Derby. Conor Laird – GSFN
