Brendan Rodgers smiled wryly as he hit the ground during Celtic’s thrashing of Aberdeen this afternoon.

The boss was very angry that Daizen Maeda and Alex Valle got the ball mixed up and it went out of play.

The Northern Irishman took a swing at the ball, kicking it back onto the field while falling.

Additionally, referee Kevin Clancy made Rodgers feel even worse when the manager finally accepted that he had broken the rules and was given a yellow card.

He said it even though his team was already up 3-0 and having a great time right before halftime. Rodgers, who likes to be perfect, was still unhappy with what he saw from his players.

After Celtic beat the Dons 6-0 at Hampden, Rodgers was asked about the awkward moment on Premier Sports.

The 51-year-old man didn’t try to explain himself, though. Instead, he laughed it off and said that his shoes let him down at the worst possible time.

When Connie McLaughlin asked Rodgers where his studs were, he laughed and said, “It’s a poor one.” “They’re Tom Fords…”

Glow-ing Charlie Mulgrew had to add his two cents, asking, “They don’t make Tom Fords with studs on them do they?”

The gaffer then said, “I’ll have to find out!”

“To be fair, I was mad because we lost the ball and were moving a little too slowly.” It was a yellow card that was due. Maybe it was just the game, but I wanted us to play a little faster, even though we were ahead 3-0.

Celtic beat Aberdeen 5-0 to make it to the Premier Sports Cup Final, thanks to a hat trick by Daizen Maeda. The win put Aberdeen back in their place after a good start to the Scottish Premiership season.

Cameron Carter-Vickers opened the scoring, Kyogo made it 2-0, and Daizen Maeda made it 3-1 before halftime.

It was 4-0 when Maeda scored his second and third goals, giving him a hat-trick. Nicolas Kuhn had already scored one goal.
