Comparing the upcoming schedules of Arsenal, Liverpool, and Manchester City as the competition for the No. 1 spot approaches – How many points will Arsenal take from this point forward? An analysis of the forthcoming schedules of Manchester City, Liverpool, and Arsenal as the competition for the No. 1 spot in the Christmas polls intensifies. From this moment forward, Arsenal will accumulate how many points? On matchday 15, the Premier League title race is heating up. Saturday’s 2-1 victory over Wolves propelled Arsenal to the summit of the table, but Liverpool and Manchester City are closing in quickly.Since the top four have amassed such a significant number of points after 14 rounds of matches, the 2023/2024 campaign stands as the most competitive season to date, at least statistically speaking.
The consensus is that Arsenal, Liverpool, and Man City are in a three-horse competition for the trophy, but Aston Villa and Tottenham are also within 34 points of Arsenal. Thirteen-time champions Manchester United had been gradually advancing in the standings following a disappointing start to the season, but their momentum was halted by a 1-0 loss to Newcastle on the weekend.
As they vie for the No. 1 title before the turn of the year, the Premier League’s top three teams will view the four matches leading up to Christmas as critical. The team that holds the leading position in the table on December 25 has been victorious in ten of the previous fourteen seasons.Although Arsenal failed to secure the victory despite establishing a five-point lead on Christmas Day of the previous year, there is a statistical advantage in their favor. Manchester City’s stretch of games preceding Christmas is the most manageable, with only an away travel to Aston Villa potentially resulting in a banana skin.
In addition, they have home games against Crystal Palace and Luton. The originally scheduled match between City and Brentford for December 25 has been rescheduled to December 19, in order to accommodate the Citizens’ Club World Cup semi-final participation. The following matchup is Everton at Goodison Park, which takes place after the holiday season.
Arsenal and Liverpool each have a match against the other on December 23, which is among the more challenging matches on their respective schedules. On December 17, the Reds will also face Manchester United, whereas the Gunners have Aston Villa and Brighton in store.
The next four matches of Arsenal, Liverpool, and Manchester City are detailed in the following section…
December 5: Luton (A) for Arsenal; December 9: Aston Villa (A); December 17: Brighton (H); and December 23: Liverpool (A).
December 6: Sheffield United (A) for Liverpool; December 9: Crystal Palace (A); December 17: Manchester United (H); and December 23: Arsenal (H).
Everton (A) on December 27, Manchester City (A), Aston Villa (A) on December 6, Luton (A) on December 10, Crystal Palace (H) on December 16, Brentford (postponed, TBD owing to the Club World Cup).
