“That is what I take pride in” – CCV Responds to Celtic’s Unbelievable Performance Cameron Carter-Vickers has been an invaluable asset to Celtic since his appointment under Ange Postecoglou.

The USA international has been instrumental in the preservation of Celtic’s exceptional defensive record, despite the intermittent hiatus he experienced as a result of a persistent foot injury.

The statistics that illustrate Carter-Vickers’s tenure at Celtic thus far are indicative of his influence. He has appeared in 110 domestic matches over the course of three and a half years since joining from Spurs, suffering only four losses. It is noteworthy that he did not participate in any domestic losses during the previous season.

His influence is not limited to his physical presence, as evidenced by the unbroken run he has maintained this season: seven league games have yielded seven victories and an equal number of clean sheets.

In the Premier Sports Cup, the sole goal conceded with him on the pitch this season occurred in a 3-1 victory over Hibernian. Carter-Vickers has been instrumental in Celtic’s success on the European arena, as evidenced by their victories over Slovan Bratislava and RB Leipzig in the Champions League.

Carter-Vickers maintains a modest demeanour and concentrates on the team’s collective success, rather than ruminating on personal accolades, despite these impressive statistics.

He stated [RecordSport]: “I recall the first season in which I suffered a loss at home to Livingston.” That may have been my initial experience with loss while living away from home. After being reduced to ten players, we suffered a 2-0 defeat to Hearts in an away game. That was somewhat unfortunate.

“However, there have not been many.” In all honesty, that is the only thing I take delight in: my consistency. I endeavour to acquire it from both myself and others. That is a matter that I am deeply concerned about and make an effort to address.

The duo never suffered a domestic defeat during Carl Starfelt’s tenure at the club. Occasionally during the previous season, one might question whether Brendan Rodgers harboured any remorse for permitting the Swede to depart for Spain.

Star felts could have been crucial, given Celtic’s vulnerability at the defence last season, despite the fact that it is impossible to compel a player to remain.
