The advertisement, which is a cherished part of Celtic’s Christmas tradition, chronicles the poignant tale of Joe, a longstanding Hoops fan, as he aspirations to become a member of his team.

The advertisement depicts Tony Roper’s character, Joe, who miraculously appears on the field at Celtic Park, thereby facilitating a goal for the club’s legendary player, Henrik Larsson.

The narrative is poignant, as Joe and his granddaughter navigate Christmas without his wife, Margaret. The dreamlike sequence concludes with Joe awaking on Christmas morning to find a signed book from Larsson and soiled boots, expressing gratitude for his assistance.

Although the advertisement resonated with fans, Sutton, who is always on the lookout for a conversation starter, responded on social media with a light-hearted jab. Sutton tweeted, “Not happy with Joe trying to take my assist off me 🤣🎅🤣🎄☘️👇,” in reference to the scene where Joe assists Larsson.

It was yet another exceptional advertisement from Celtic. It was a pleasure to observe the development in the emotional appeal of this year’s version, as the previous year’s lacked it. It was also wonderful to have former Celts involved, whether through a personal appearance or CGI.
