ARSENAL SHOULD SIGN TWO WORLD-CLASS FORWARDS IN JANUARY, AS LEGEND NAMESRafael Leao and Victor Osimhen are two players that Arsenal legend Emmanuel Petit has urged his former club to acquire during the January transfer window.
Reinforcements may be required by the Arsenal, who have been on the brink of ending their two-decade-long Premier League title drought in successive seasons, in order to contend with the reigning champions Manchester City and an in-form Liverpool.
Petit is of the opinion that Arsenal’s acquisition of these players could offer the necessary versatility and power to eventually claim the league title.
Petit emphasized the significance of alleviating the burden on Bukayo Saka, who has been Arsenal’s most exceptional performer this season, during an interview with talkSPORT.
“I believe that Arsenal require one or two additional players, particularly in the front and on the left flank, to enhance quality and establish rotation,” Petit stated.
“They require a striker of exceptional quality who is capable of scoring 20 to 30 goals annually.” Arsenal is lacking precisely that.
Saka has been instrumental in Arsenal’s campaign, contributing five goals and ten assists, which puts him on course to surpass Thierry Henry’s record of 20 assists set in the 2002/03 season.
Nevertheless, the team’s dependence on Saka has revealed their dearth of offensive depth.
Victor Osimhen of Napoli and Rafael Leao of AC Milan were designated by Petit as ideal targets. “I am extremely fond of Osimhen.”
He has also been associated with PSG; however, he is an exceptional player. Leao is an additional alternative. “They are distinct types of players, but both are demonstrating exceptional performance at their respective clubs,” Petit continued.
Both players have demonstrated their capacity to perform under duress. Leao played a critical role in the 2021 Serie A victory for AC Milan, and Osimhen scored 26 league goals to assist Napoli in achieving their first Scudetto in 33 years in 2023.
