Marcus Rashford may be forced to endure a protracted absence from Old Trafford, as

Manchester United rekindled their appetite in his absence on Wednesday. United manager Erik ten Hag relegated the England wing to the sidelines until the final six minutes, during which time his squad delivered one of the most dynamic displays of the season in order to defeat Chelsea 2-1.Rashford, who has only scored twice in 19 appearances for United this season, is concerned that he may be forced to share substitute time with fellow fall guy Anthony Martial on a regular basis.

Former United defender Patrice Evra told Amazon Prime, “He [Ten Hag] put the right players on the field, and United fans won’t understand if that same team doesn’t play the next game.” “I will concede if it is an injury, but I do not believe Marcus and Martial will be able to return to the starting lineup.

“[Alejandro] Garnacho and Antony both played exceptionally well, and their work ethic was remarkable… One cannot speak negatively of those players; therefore, it is my sincere wish that this team will remain. “Marcus and Martial will face significant difficulty, and they will have to fight to reclaim their positions, given that the children performed exceptionally well.”

Ten Hag attributed Marcus Rashford’s absence against Chelsea to rotation, but with the exception of illness or suspension, it was the first time this season that he was left out of a Premier League or Champions League match. United expended a great deal more energy than they did in their previous match against Newcastle, when Rashford started but was criticized for failing to trace back.

Hughes told William Hill’s No Tippy Tappy Football podcast, “I don’t believe players go out with the intention of not trying; that doesn’t happen. However, I believe Rashford has reverted to the mindset he had before last season; he doesn’t look happy.”Rashford is an exceptional talent and one of the league’s finest when it comes to tackling, but he is arguably one of the worst without the ball. He must resolve that particular aspect.”

On Saturday, Manchester United travels to Old Trafford to face Bournemouth in their next Premier League match; Ten Hag is likely to keep an unchanged lineup.
