Rodgers is prepared for a demanding transfer window and asserts that Celtic has established contingency plans should they lose a key player.
Brendan Rodgers has stated that Celtic is poised to act promptly in the transfer market should any substantial offers be presented for any of their key players.
With slightly more than two weeks remaining in the January transfer window, Rodgers has dismissed speculation regarding the future of the influential striker Kyogo Furuhashi.Kyogo, who has garnered interest from Major League Soccer (MLS) teams in the United States as well as clubs in the Bundesliga in Germany, is currently contracted with Parkhead until the summer of 2027.
The most significant consideration is that if a participant does not wish to remain here, then they should depart. At that juncture, the institution must secure the most advantageous agreement available.
‘So I don’t ever see the purpose of keeping someone who doesn’t want to be here. For us, it encompasses all possible eventualities. That’s what we prepare for, whether it’s injuries, whether it’s transfers. “It is imperative to remain prepared at all times; this is the essence of our message.”
At this juncture, Kyogo is experiencing a sense of contentment. He is performing admirably, consistently netting goals, and deriving pleasure from his experience in football. Notwithstanding his two goals in the 4-1 victory against Ross County last weekend, it was remarkable that Kyogo’s celebrations appeared to be rather subdued.
Typically known for his exuberant celebrations with supporters, both following goals and at the conclusion of matches, the Japanese striker, who will celebrate his 30th birthday next week, maintained a subdued demeanour. Rodgers expresses no apprehensions regarding the player’s mentality, stating,
“I observe him on a daily basis.” Individuals often scrutinise various aspects of a situation, remarking that he did not celebrate sufficiently or that he failed to undertake certain actions. Just last week, Major League Soccer (MLS) was compelled to issue an apology following their erroneous announcement regarding an agreement for the Japanese striker’s transfer to Atlanta United.
Nicolas Kuhn has emerged as one of Celtic’s prominent players, having recently been associated with various clubs in England. Meanwhile, it has been reported that Cameron Carter-Vickers is under observation by the German champions, Bayer Leverkusen.
Rodgers emphasises that the club must be equipped to handle all potential scenarios and has pledged that they will act promptly to secure a replacement in the event that any of their prominent players leave.
