“Remarkable” – Newcastle United triumphed over Arsenal, with the recent acquisition observed at the training facility.
Newcastle United officially introduced a new acquisition to Tyneside over the weekend.
The esteemed Georgian forward, Vakhtang Salia, has consented to transfer to the Magpies from Dinamo Tbilisi. The transfer will be formalised upon Salia’s attainment of the age of 18 in August.
During his visit, Salia was recorded at the club’s Benton training facility, where he engaged in discussions with Sporting Director Paul Mitchell, Head Coach Eddie Howe, and several of his prospective teammates. In an interview with NUFCTV, Salia remarked, “I have visited the academy, the training facility, and the stadium; it is truly remarkable.”
It is my aspiration to perform there; I believe it is a shared ambition among many to have the opportunity to play in that esteemed venue. “Upon learning of Newcastle’s interest in me, my motivation arose spontaneously.” Upon first hearing the news, I found it difficult to believe, as it was of significant importance to me.
Howe’s team successfully secured Salia’s signature, having outperformed several prominent European clubs in the process. As previously reported by NewcastleWorld, Arsenal believed they had won the race for Salia at one stage, only for the player to move to Newcastle.
“In October, Mitchell expressed, ‘We are pleased to have outpaced several other prominent clubs in securing the signing of Vakhtang.'” The identification and recruitment of emergent talent constitute a fundamental aspect of establishing a sustainable future, especially within the existing PSR framework, resulting in a highly competitive market.
“We are engaged in comprehensive scouting efforts, both nationally and internationally, with the objective of identifying players who can progress through our talent development pathway and, ideally, integrate into the first team in the future.”
“We anticipate a productive collaboration with Vakhtang and extend our best wishes for his continued success during his tenure at Dinamo Tbilisi.”
