Hansi Flick has explicitly stated that the Barcelona forward is not included in his strategic considerations.Ansu Fati has not yet established his role within the strategic framework devised by manager Hansi Flick at FC Barcelona.
Despite having the opportunity to depart from the club in January, the youthful forward opted to remain, aspiring to gain the coach’s confidence and to secure increased playing time during the latter half of the season. However, the early indicators are not positive for the 22-year-old attacker. Flick’s position is unequivocal.
Flick has recently announced the personnel list for Barcelona in anticipation of tonight’s match against Valencia. Furthermore, Ansu Fati was not included on the roster. As emphasised by Mundo Deportivo, this serves as yet another unequivocal indication that the La Masia alumnus does not have a role in Flick’s strategic vision for FC Barcelona.
In the inaugural match subsequent to the conclusion of the winter transfer window on Monday, Fati has been omitted from the squad roster. It is important to note that Fati was excluded from the squad for four consecutive matches in January, specifically twice during the Spanish Super Cup and once each in the Copa del Rey and La Liga.
The Spaniard’s reintegration into the squad occurred solely as a result of Dani Olmo’s injury sustained during the match against Getafe. Nevertheless, despite his return to the squad, Fati was not granted any playing time by Flick, who had previously indicated a willingness to facilitate the attacker’s departure in January.
The La Masia alumnus, however, chose to remain with the club, even declining offers from other teams; yet, he now finds himself sidelined once more following Olmo’s return. It remains to be determined whether Fati’s circumstances will evolve in the forthcoming weeks; however, the initial indicators are not encouraging.
