Rodgers has announced the discovery of a new Celtic superstar, and it is not Daizen Maeda.

Celtic moved 16 points clear at the summit of the Scottish Premiership table on Tuesday night with a 5-1 victory over Aberdeen at Parkhead. The Hoops established a dominant lead by scoring three goals in the opening 45 minutes, with Jota, Daizen

 

 


 

Maeda, and Callum McGregor all finding the back of the net. After the interval, Hyun-jun Yang, a second-half substitute, scored the fourth goal by combining with several teammates and finding the bottom corner of the near post. Maeda added a second goal in the 92nd minute.

 

 

Brendan Rodgers may not be satisfied with the entirety of his team’s performance, as Aberdeen failed to capitalise on numerous opportunities to score prior to their 90th-minute consolation. However, there were several exceptional individual performances.

Additionally, he demonstrated his skill with a delicate, first-time finish that caused the ball to fall from the Mae da, a 27-year-old forward, also exerted himself to regain possession of the ball and covered a significant amount of ground, as one would anticipate.

 

 

The Japan international triumphed in five of his ten ground duels and concluded the evening with two clearances and one interception, demonstrating his dedicated effort in preventing Aberdeen from playing out from the back.

 

 

 

 

Maeda, of course, was present at the back post in the 92nd minute to guide the ball into an empty net following Alistair Johnston’s exceptional cross from the right flank. However, the Celtic star failed to generate any opportunities for his teammates. This may be an aspect of his game that he intends to enhance in the future, in order to complement his unwavering determination in front of the net.
