Eddie Howe has already informed Newcastle United’s key player that he is “prepared” following Alexander Isak’s injury. One Newcastle United player may have the opportunity to start a match this weekend due to Alexander Isak’s groin injury.

Eddie Howe has already been informed that he is “prepared” to seize the opportunity. Isak was unable to participate in Newcastle United’s loss to Liverpool on Wednesday night due to a groin concern that prevented him from playing at Anfield. Instead, Callum Wilson made his first appearance in the Premier League of the season, but he failed to capitalise on several significant opportunities to secure an equaliser for his team with the score at 1-0.

In the 69th minute, Will Osula replaced Wilson and was granted a rare 20 minutes of Premier League action. This season, the former Sheffield United player has appeared in 15 matches across all competitions, with ten of those matches occurring in the division. Nevertheless, Osula has only played for less than 70 minutes in those ten appearances, with 21 of those minutes occurring at Anfield.

The 21-year-old was always going to require time to adjust to his new club and the demands of playing for an Eddie Howe team in the Premier League. However, a few impressive performances in cup competitions this season have prompted some sections of the fan base to call for him to be given more opportunities in the first-team.

In January, Osula scored his first goal for the Magpies during their 3-1 victory over Bromley in the Third Round of the FA Cup. Subsequently, he delivered an electrifying performance at St Andrew’s in the previous round. Is it possible that Howe may assign Osula another start in the FA, given that Isak is uncertain for Sunday’s match against Brighton?

If he is, the Danish Under-21 international will, in his own words, be “prepared” to capitalise on the opportunity. Will Osula’s remarks regarding his readiness Osula was questioned about the potential of forcing himself into Howe’s first-team plans after making his first competitive start for Newcastle United during their 1-0 victory over AFC Wimbledon in the Carabao Cup back in October.

He responded, “It is not my responsibility to say; that is for the gaffer.” Osula scored twice for the Blades against Gillingham before scoring against Brighton in the Fourth Round. Nevertheless, the Seagulls would emerge as 5-2 victors at Bramall Lane that day.
