Man City supporters are apprehensive following Pep Guardiola’s recent remarks regarding Ilkay Gundogan, as he has advised them to bench him for the remainder of the season. Pep Guardiola’s recent remarks regarding Ilkay Gundogan have caused considerable anxiety among Manchester City supporters.
Gundogan returned to Manchester City from Barcelona in the summer, following a one-year absence from The Etihad, at the invitation of Pep Guardiola. Is he still capable of delivering the goods at the highest level for Manchester City, or should he be transferred elsewhere? Pep Guardiola’s announcement regarding Ilkay Gundogan has caused concern among
Manchester City supporters. It appears that Gundogan may be able to extend his tenure at The Etihad for at least one more season. During his press conference on Friday, Pep discussed the former Borussia Dortmund midfielder. According to the Mirror, the Manchester City manager anticipates that Gundo will be a reliable asset in the upcoming season.
“There are players over the age of 30 who will be a part of the future of this club, with the exception of Kevin, who will be determined by the club and himself.” I anticipate that the other individuals will be present next season, as they have contracts. Are they going to provide assistance? “Yes or no!”
“The upcoming season will feature a significant number of games, and it is impossible to complete them solely with new or existing players; it is imperative that all players participate in the same game.”
I have faith in Gundo, Bernie, and all of the players who are under contract with Manchester City–they are present! There is no question about it. Additionally, they will be of significant significance at the conclusion of this season and in the upcoming season.
Nevertheless, there are Manchester City supporters who are exceedingly dissatisfied with Pep’s remarks. One fan was extremely critical of the possibility of Gundogan receiving a new contract: “This is terrible; Pep continues to play him, which is enhancing his self-esteem but not his performances.”
At the same time, another City fan encouraged Gundo to depart the club on a high note rather than overstay his welcome: “This would have been a positive development if our season had not been so explosive; however, it is now appearing to be a threat. I recall the excitement we felt upon his return; at present, Galatasaray is interested in him; a league with fewer demands would be beneficial for him.”.
It is preferable to depart as a hero than to assume the role of the adversary. A third Man City supporter expressed their sentiments on X, stating, “I can comprehend this season…but one more year of Gundogan…will erase what he did for the treble…” He will depart in the same manner as Kyle and Raz, as the fans will become increasingly irritated.
A fourth individual recommended that Pep be merciless with the 34-year-old: “Bench him for the remainder of the season!” Club monarch, but we must prioritise the club’s interests. A fifth fan expressed his dissatisfaction with the situation by stating, “This is not good news.”
