Georgios Karagounis, a former Greece international, has encouraged Cristiano Ronaldo, the captain of Al-Nassr, to join Panathinaikos upon his eventual departure from the Saudi Pro League club.
Ronaldo’s contract with Al-Nassr will conclude at the conclusion of this season.
The club has not yet executed a new contract with the Portugal international.
Karagounis, as reported by GOAL, maintained that Ronaldo would be an ideal candidate for Panathinaikos during an interview with Spin Genie.
“I am uncertain as to whether Cristiano Ronaldo will ever visit Wrexham, but I would be delighted to witness him in Greece with Panathinaikos,” Karagounis stated.
“Panathinaikos is an exceptional club, and while the future is uncertain, Ronaldo and Panathinaikos are both renowned in Greece.”
“He has already worn green with Sporting, so why not with Panathinaikos? I would be thrilled to witness it.”
Ronaldo is approaching the conclusion of his football career at the age of 40.
In the past, he has represented Manchester United, Sporting CP, Real Madrid, and Juventus.
It remains to be determined whether Ronaldo will ultimately join Panathinaikos or any other club at the conclusion of the season.
