Male Rasmus Hojlund is expected to be offered by United in a surprising trade deal for an ex-Premier League player.

Manchester United is reportedly willing to exchange Rasmus Hojlund for a highly-regarded former Premier League player. It is widely known that United are in the process of recruiting a new striker in the summer to replace Joshua Zirkzee and Hojlund, who have both underperformed when offered the opportunity to start at the front.

United’s current young strikers are uncertain about their future, as Matheus Cunha, the hero of Wolves, appears to be the frontrunner to replace them as the team’s number nine. Nevertheless, we may finally have an answer to these questions, as a new report has revealed that United are contemplating parting ways with Hojlund as part of a swap deal for a former Premier League star.

Cunha may be the primary acquisition for United when the transfer window opens in June; however, he may not be the sole forward to arrive at Old Trafford this summer. Liam Delap of Ipswich Town has also been the subject of interest from United in previous reports. However, the Red Devils are currently reportedly contemplating a sensational trade deal for Ademola Lookman, a forward for Atalanta.

The Sun reports that United are prepared to propose a partial swap deal, which would involve the return of Hojlund to his former club in exchange for Lookman’s arrival at Old Trafford.. Lookman has since established himself as one of the most talented wingers in European football at the Serie A club, following his tenures with Everton, Fulham, and Leicester City in the Premier League.

In 114 appearances for the Italian club, Lookman has scored 50 goals and assisted 24. He was their main player last season after leading them to the glory in the Europa League, scoring a hat-trick in the final. In 36 appearances across all competitions this season, the Nigerian international has scored 18 goals and assisted seven. Nevertheless, it is highly probable that Looman will depart the club this summer,

following a series of public disputes with Atalanta manager Gian Piero Gasperini this season. This presents an ideal opportunity for United. Hojlund has been frequently associated with a return to his former club, despite a lacklustre stint with United this season, during which he has only scored three times in 28 league appearances. The 22-year-old’s representatives are still in contact with the club.
