Once a defensive lineman star for the Spartans, he is getting another NFL crack—this time with the hometown team.
Following a minicamp tryout with the Detroit Lions, former Michigan State defensive lineman Raequan Williams was confirmed as signed by them. From 2016 to 2019 Williams starred for the Spartans; since leaving college, he has spent some time in the NFL.
Williams most last participated in an NFL game in 2021 while a Philadelphia Eagles player. Having participated in seven NFL games, he has one sack and seven tackles overall.
Williams was often an impact player in 50 games he participated in at Michigan State. His career came to a conclusion with 160 tackles, 11.5 sacks, eight passes defended, and three forced fumbles.
One of a handful former Spartans signing with NFL teams on Monday, Williams joined linebacker Jordan Turner and wide receiver Montorie Foster Jr. Turner signed with the Denver Broncos; foster signed with the Seattle Seahawks.
