Latest update on Joelinton injury ahead of their next match against Everton

On Sunday, Newcastle United will play their final game of the season against Everton. Eddie Howe’s team is one victory away from qualifying for the Champions League.

The return of Champions League football to St James’ Park next season is guaranteed with three points on Sunday. All eyes will be on the starting XI that Howe selects to face the Toffees in what is undoubtedly Newcastle’s most significant league game of the season.

Their most recent two matches have been played in a back-five formation; however, this weekend, they may adopt a more conventional 4-3-3 formation, although the decision will likely be contingent upon the players at their disposal. Emil Krafth may take the pitch as a result of Kieran Trippier’s injury complications, or Howe may be compelled to name a starting lineup that is similar to the one that originated at the Emirates Stadium.

In the past two weeks, Sandro Tonali and Bruno Guimaraes have established a midfield tandem, which has caused Howe some difficulty due to Joelinton’s injury. The Brazilian has not been seen since their loss to Aston Villa last month due to a knee injury and is not anticipated to return this season. However, Howe has not entirely disregarded the possibility of his midfield enforcer returning.
