The Oklahoma City Thunder beat the Memphis Grizzlies in the first round of the NBA playoffs. The loss was made worse when star point guard Ja Morant hurt his hip in Game 3 and couldn’t play for the rest of the series.

The Grizzlies probably still plan to build around Morant, even though the end of their 2024–25 season wasn’t great.

Former NBA All-Star Kevin Morant is still thought to be a player that Memphis wants to build around, not just next season but for a long time to come, according to ESPN’s Bobby Marks.

The Grizzlies might still try to make changes this summer, though. A lot of teams, including the Miami Heat, would be eager to make offers on star point guard Morant if he became free this summer.

Andy Bailey of Bleacher Report came up with a crazy trade idea: the Heat would get All-Star forward Andrew Wiggins in return for Morant.

In exchange for Andrew Wiggins, Nikola Jović, Jaime Jaquez Jr., Pelle Larsson, a first-round pick in 2029, and a first-round pick in 2031, the Memphis Grizzlies get

This season, Morant, 25, scored 23.2 points, 4.1 rebounds, 7.3 assists, and 1.2 steals per game. However, his injuries have become a real worry. Morant has only played in 59 games over the last two seasons, but when he’s fit, he still plays like a star.

The Grizzlies would get Andrew Wiggins in this deal. Wiggins was sent to Miami at the trade deadline in February. It was 19 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 3.3 assists per game for Wiggins in 17 games with the Heat. He would be a great playmaker on the wing in Memphis.

Morant could be one of the best guards in the NBA if he stays healthy and out of trouble. The Heat might be willing to take a chance on him being available in trade this summer.
