A deal has been reached, and the Liverpool defender is preparing to leave the club with only one year remaining on his contract at Anfield. On Tuesday, the Reds are expected to finalise a deal for Milos Kerkez, in addition to securing a number of new signings.
It is probable that the left-back’s presence will result in the departure of another player, such as Andy Robertson or Kostas Tsimikas. Obertson is the focus of interest from Atletico Madrid, while Tsimikas has expressed a desire to remain at Anfield. He stated, “In my opinion, the 27-29 games I participate in annually across all competitions are more than the 40 games
I play for another team and in a different league.” This is me, on the broadway of football. I am content in this location. The Reds’ decision is uncertain, as Trent Alexander-Arnold and Caoimhin Kelleher have already departed the club, and Jarell Quansah is on the brink of a transfer to Bayer Leverkusen. Liverpool and West Brom have reached an agreement regarding the acquisition of Nat Phillips.
Nat Phillips, who had only one year remaining on his contract at Anfield, has joined West Brom in the past 12 hours. After being summoned during an injury crisis during the 2020-21 campaign, the centre-back became somewhat of a cult figure at Liverpool, as he assisted the club in regaining entry into the Champions League. In March 2021, he was selected as the athlete of the month.
When he temporarily returned from a loan tenure at VfB Stuttgart in January 2020, he made his debut in the FA Cup against Everton. He remained at Anfield for the first half of the 2021-22 season before transferring to Bournemouth on loan, where he assisted the Cherries in securing promotion. He remained with the Reds for the 2022-23 season; however, he has been on loan to Celtic, Cardiff City, and Derby County over the past two seasons.
Phillips has agreed to a three-year contract with West Brom, stating, “I would say that the aspirations of this club are in alignment with my own, and it is certainly a significant club.” I believe that the club and all those involved would prefer to see it compete for promotion and pursue Premier League football, which is also my desire. I am eagerly anticipating the event, and upon learning of the interest, I was eager to arrive and commence my activities.
I have consistently aspired to establish a rhythm and maintain consistent performance throughout my tenure. I believe I achieved this in the latter half of the previous season, and I am eager to maintain this momentum and attempt to carry it into the upcoming season. I have received numerous loans in recent years, and it will be a pleasant experience
for my family and me to visit a location where we can establish a connection with the club and the supporters by residing there. Andrew Nestor, the sporting director, expressed his enthusiasm for Nat’s arrival at The Hawthorns: “We are extremely pleased to have him.” He possesses valuable experience due to his profound knowledge of the division, as well as his participation in competitions
outside of England and at a prestigious club such as Liverpool. We were particularly impressed by Nat’s leadership qualities, which will serve to strengthen our already robust defence. We are of the opinion that he is approaching the zenith of his career as a centre-back and anticipate that he will continue to mature as a player and leader within our team while he is with us.
