Marcus Rashford has moved to Barcelona, which was his dream move since he played for Manchester United.
The 27-year-old player joins the Catalan giants on loan at first, but Barcelona has the option to make the move official next summer.
Rashford became a symbol of homegrown ability and a poster boy for the club after rising through the ranks of United’s academy.
Since he first came to attention in 2015, he has scored 138 goals in 426 games across all categories.
His last game for United was in December, against Viktoria Plzen. After that, he had a much smaller part at the club.
Rashford wants to crush it at Barcelona because the World Cup is coming up next year.
Along with Lamine Yamal and Raphinha, he will be joining the front line of the attack, which is already very exciting. He will add even more weapons to it.
Hansi Flick, the manager of Barcelona, gave the go-ahead for Rashford to move last week and went to Spain over the weekend.
He scored the first goal for United under Ruben Amorim, but he was quickly taken off the team for games.
Rashford’s training intensity was called into question by Amorim, who eventually decided that Rashford was not needed and left him out of 11 matchday teams.
Rashford spent the second part of the previous season on loan at Aston Villa, but he didn’t make much of an impact because he kept getting hurt.
United will be relieved that Barcelona has decided to pay his full salary while he is on loan, as it will help them save money.
It looks like United will be getting rid of Jadon Sancho, Alejandro Garnacho, Tyrell Malacia, and Antony.
The team says that all four players have told them they want to leave Old Trafford this summer.
