Luke McCowan is receiving the recognition he is due.
Although he wasn’t a consistent player in his first season, the Celtic midfielder had an impact on games as a replacement.
The new season has begun similarly, as McCowan scored the game-winning goal against St Mirren on Flag Day after entering the game in the second half.
He received a start and played brilliantly for the entire ninety minutes of Celtic’s Premier Sports Cup victory over Falkirk on Friday night.
Halliday extols McCowan’s disposition.
After seeing a portion of the match, Andy Halliday told Open Goal that he has observed two things about McCowan this season.
The midfielder for Motherwell thinks McCowan never fails Celtic on the field and will give it his all when he plays.
I didn’t watch the entire game, but based on what I saw, Luke McCowan Given how dominant Celtic is in that area of the field, I can see why it’s so difficult for him to make an impression on the squad.
However, it seems to me that he never disappoints Celtic when he performs.
Slane: “I believe he’s now ahead of Bernardo and Engels.” With Nygren’s recent start, I would say that the three are Nygren, Hatate, and McGregor.
“But Nygren is the first person to enter there now, in my opinion.”
“You know what he gives you a lot more than Engels,” said Ferry. Just look at his excitement.
McCowan is backed by Martin O’Neill for a more significant Celtic position.
Martin O’Neill, a Celtic icon, was quite complimentary of McCowan just a few weeks ago and believes the former Dundee player can improve this season.
“I wouldn’t have seen him live very often, but I have definitely seen him on television,” O’Neill stated. He deserves praise for persevering, working his way up, and making it into Celtic’s starting lineup.
He certainly seems to be going to play a bigger role this season, though I suppose my opinion won’t really matter because what matters is what the manager thinks of him. And good for him if that’s the case.
“Now, if it’s feasible, you want to see a significant improvement over the previous season.
Halliday: “I think he plays like he’s just desperate to get the jersey,” Halliday said. Every time he takes the field or kicks off a game, he plays as though he wants to have an influence.
