Predicted Lineup, team news, injury report Man City predicted XI vs Tottenham Hotspur

Manchester City will endeavor to sustain their promising start to the 2025/26 Premier League season by defeating Tottenham this weekend.

On Saturday afternoon, Pep Guardiola’s team will play against Tottenham at the Etihad Stadium. City has historically struggled against Tottenham, and securing three points against Thomas Frank’s team would serve as a positive indicator for the forthcoming season.

This marks the inaugural encounter between Guardiola and a Tottenham team that lacks Son Heung-min and Harry Kane. The legendary coach will be buoyed by his players’ performance at Molineux last weekend.

Manchester City fans will be enthusiastic about the team’s return to the Etihad Stadium. According to Manchester City News, Guardiola is expected to deploy the following lineup against Tottenham.

Predicted Lineup, team news, injury report Man City predicted XI vs Tottenham Hotspur
Manchester City were without several key players for their opening weekend match against Wolves; however, this has been marginally altered for Tottenham’s visit to Manchester.

In a press conference on Friday, Guardiola announced that Phil Foden and Rodri are available for selection. Additionally, Ederson will return from illness to face Tottenham, despite the ambiguity surrounding his future.

Savinho, Josko Gvardiol, Mateo Kovacic, and Marcus Bettinelli joined Savinho on the sidelines for this weekend’s match after missing Man City’s travel to Wolves.

Although none of the returning trio are anticipated to start against Tottenham, it is a significant advantage for Guardiola to have the option of summoning them from the substitutes at any point during the 90-minute match.

Jeremy Doku will be relegated to the sideline as a result of Pep Guardiola’s decision regarding the goalkeeper position.
Guardiola announced during his press conference that he will determine the starting goalkeeper for Man City on Friday evening, as there has been considerable discussion regarding the position in recent weeks.

The 22-year-old should start against Tottenham, as James Trafford impressed against Wolves on his debut and Galatasaray is pursuing Ederson. There is no need to risk leaving the Englishman out of the team.

Gvardiol remains ineligible for selection, and Man City will only play one game per week until after the international break. Consequently, Guardiola is expected to select an unchanged back four for Tottenham’s visit to the Etihad Stadium.

This implies that Rico Lewis will commence at right-back, with Rayan Ait-Nouri occupying the opposite flank. John Stones will continue to play as a center-back, and Ruben Dias will serve as his companion. Dias, who recently signed a new contract with Manchester City, will be buoyed by his newfound confidence as they prepare for Saturday’s match.

The 27-year-old will be partnered with Nico Gonzalez in the middle of the park against Tottenham, following an assured performance at Molineux in Rodri’s absence.

Oscar Bobb’s performance last weekend impressed Man City fans, and it would be unjust to exclude him from the team against Tottenham. Consequently, he is named the starter.

Bernardo Silva will be positioned next to the adolescent in the tenth position, with Omar Marmoush to his left. This is the sole modification that Guardiola may implement.

After a promising summer, Jeremy Doku was unable to impress against Wolves. This week, Paul Merson disclosed that he is not a fan of the Manchester City winger, asserting that he “does not make things happen often enough.”

The identity of the City captain this weekend is undeniable, as Erling Haaland secured a brace against Wolves to kick off the 2025/26 season.

Against Tottenham, the Norwegian superstar has scored four goals in the past, and he will endeavor to replicate the feat.

The anticipated starting lineup for Manchester City’s match against Tottenham (4-2-3-1) is as follows: Trafford; Lewis, Stones, Dias, Ait-Nouri; Reijnders, Gonzalez; Bobb, Silva, Marmoush; Haaland.
