Manchester City forward Omar Marmoush has provided his assessment of each of the club’s primary summer acquisitions in the context of intensified competition within the squad.
On the transfer front, the Citizens have been quite active this year, completing a plethora of signings in both the January and summer windows.
In the winter, Omar Marmoush, Nico Gonzalez, and Abdukodir Khusanov were among the players who joined Manchester City.
Concurrently, City recruited Tijjani Reijnders, Rayan Ait-Nouri, Rayan Cherki, and James Trafford during the summer window.
“The qualities of the new Manchester City signings have been demonstrated,” Omar Marmoush stated.
In an interview with the City media team, Marmoush described the significance of competition for positions within the organization.
The Egypt international has stated that City’s summer acquisitions have already demonstrated their quality.
Three of the new signings—Reijnders, Ait-Nouri, and Cherki—were featured at the FIFA Club World Cup, while Trafford made his City debut away at Wolves.
“We have observed their qualities since the first day of the training session,” Marmoush stated, as reported by the City website.
“Ait-Nouri is exceptionally adept at controlling the ball and is known for his superb defensive capabilities.”
“Tijjani is a box-to-box midfielder who significantly contributes to the offensive side.
“Rayan Cherki possesses that quality of creativity and the ability to operate in tight spaces.”
James, of course, played exceptionally well and assisted in the preservation of a noteworthy goal.
Their qualities are well-known, and we are exceedingly pleased to have them. Hopefully, we will be able to make progress as a team.
What has Pep Guardiola stated regarding Manchester City’s recent acquisitions?
The 4-0 victory over Wolves left Pep Guardiola impressed with his new recruits.
He was not unduly surprised, however, as he believes that the club has consistently been reliable in its recruitment efforts.
“The club consistently recruits exceptional players,” stated Guardiola.
“In the Premier League, I have never encountered a player who is not exceptional, not only at Man City but also in general.”
“The reason you are a footballer in the Premier League is that you are extremely talented.”
“Your capacity to improve is contingent upon your ability to establish a connection with the team’s concept and your colleagues.”
“The team performs poorly; however, they criticize a single player. The players are exceptional, and they have consistently been so.”
Reijnders and Cherki were the target of Guardiola’s praise.
“Tijji provides us with something.” “He said, ‘You miss it, having an incredible pace to the box.'”
“And Cherki’s talent is truly remarkable; his creativity, final third, and ability to navigate small spaces are exceptional. At times, we will require his assistance in specific games.”
