Celtic F.C 24-year-old winger officially move to Rapid Vienna permanently

The permanent transfer of winger Marco Tilio to Rapid Vienna has been officially verified by Celtic.

The Austrian side revised the agreement from a loan to a full transfer, which facilitated the completion of the move. Tilio has only played 28 minutes of first-team football since joining Glasgow from Melbourne City two summers ago. He is now departing the club.

Brendan Rodgers did not include Tilio in any of the early rosters this season, which resulted in injuries and limited opportunities during his tenure at Celtic. The Australian international was unable to establish himself in the senior setup, despite being highly regarded upon his arrival.

His departure creates a vacant position within the squad, as Celtic endeavor to reorganize it prior to the window’s conclusion. In the final stretch of the window, supporters will anticipate action on the incoming front, as the lack of depth out wide remains a concern. Eventually, there does appear to be such action.

Tilio embarks on a new chapter in Vienna, where he has the opportunity to revitalize his European career following a frustrating period in Glasgow.
