“We need help” Celtic F.C. captains Callum McGregor reacts over exit of UEFA Champions League to the HOOPS board with a strong message that most fans least expected

Following their shocking Champions League relegation at the hands of Kairat Almaty, Celtic captain Callum McGregor has made an honest and forceful plea to the club’s management to bring in reinforcements.

Following the loss, the midfielder did not hold back when he publicly admitted that the present team needed assistance, as many supporters have been saying all summer.

“Everyone has expressed our needs fairly clearly. “If we want to compete on all fronts, we need the players, we need help, and we need a strong squad,” McGregor told the BBC. “After Tuesday night, that remains unchanged. We need bodies in the door, and the players still need assistance.

The club captain’s comment is remarkable, particularly during a slow summer when there are obvious vacancies in the roster that have not been filled. McGregor’s remarks cut through the clutter and directly blame the team for not adequately preparing for the season’s most important games.

It is simply crazy that Kyogo departed Celtic eight months ago and hasn’t been replaced. Due to the club’s failure to bring in new players, Nicolas Kuhn left at the beginning of the transfer window and had been the subject of rumors since January. We started the season with Yang and Forrest as our wingers and were eliminated from the Champions League.

It only serves to highlight how bad the matter is for someone like McGregor, who rarely makes news, to speak out publicly against it.

There is now a lot of pressure on the board to take action or risk further scrutiny from both inside and outside the dressing room as the transfer window draws to a close.
