Celtic fans’ protest against the board has sparked huge debate.
The Parkhead faithful kicked off their first stage of action with a 12th-minute late walk-in during the clash with Kilmarnock.
While some in the media tried to dismiss it as underwhelming, the reality is very different. The protest has grabbed the attention of Sky Sports, dominated tabloid headlines, and kept pundits like Chris Sutton, Kris Boyd, and James McFadden talking about it.
Far from a failure, the protest was a clear success — and if the Celtic board thought it would blow over, Andy Walker has issued a stern warning to the Parkhead hierarchy.
Fan anger isn’t going away
Speaking on The Go Radio Football Show, former Celtic striker Andy Walker admitted the fans’ frustrations are only building:
“The manager tried to push for one or two signings, but nothing happened. That’s why you’re seeing so many protests. I don’t think supporters will let this slide just because the transfer window has closed.”
What’s next for the protests?
Last Wednesday, a wide range of supporters’ groups, fan media, and associations held a major meeting to agree on action against the board.
Despite being organised in just a few days, the gathering was a success — and another has already taken place since.
With more high-profile fixtures on the horizon, fans are preparing further demonstrations. The message is clear: the Celtic board should brace themselves for more public embarrassment in the weeks ahead.
