Cardiff City tie down Ronan Kpakio and Isaak Davies to new deals

Cardiff City have secured the futures of academy products Ronan Kpakio and Isaak Davies, with both players signing new four-year contracts at the club.

Kpakio, 18, has enjoyed a breakout season at right-back, helping the Bluebirds climb to fourth in League One after losing just once so far. His form earned him a first senior cap for Wales earlier this month in the friendly against Canada.

Speaking after signing, Kpakio said he was delighted to commit his future to the club:

Ronan Kpakio and Welsh 23-year-old forward have officially sign new Cardiff City F.C. contracts
“I had to show in pre-season that I was capable of getting a spot in this team. There’s a young group of academy players here and it’s exciting to have that trust from the manager. Brian [Barry-Murphy] really believes in us, and I feel confident on and off the ball. It’s what you dream of as a young player.”

Meanwhile, Isaak Davies, a Wales Under-21 international, has already made over 50 senior appearances since his debut in 2021. After spending 2023–24 on loan at Belgian side Kortrijk, injuries restricted him to just 10 outings last term. Fully fit again, he has impressed with three goals in 11 appearances this season.

Davies also spoke of his pride at signing the new deal:
“I’m buzzing to get it done. Cardiff City is home to me, it’s been a big part of my life. The buzz around the club right now is unbelievable and I’m really excited about the future here.”
