Scottish former footballer Derek Ferguson explains what Russell Martin to avoid been fired as Rangers coach after lastest sack warning

Max Aarons came off the bench to score the decisive goal as Rangers scraped a 2-1 win over Livingston on Sunday night — a result that gave Russell Martin some desperately needed breathing space.
The Rangers boss has faced intense criticism following a poor start to the campaign, with performances consistently falling short of expectations. Even after the victory, Martin and his players were jeered by supporters, highlighting the fractured relationship between the manager and the fans.

The win does little to ease the pressure, as many among the Ibrox faithful remain keen to see Martin dismissed. However, with chairman Andrew Cavenagh currently away from the club, the former Premier League coach is expected to stay in charge for now.
Speaking on Open Goal, Derek Ferguson offered Martin some blunt advice on how to turn things around:

“To change things, you’ve got to lift a trophy — but above all, just keep winning,” Ferguson said. “That’s where he went wrong at the start. He was too focused on imposing his style. Get the wins first, and once you’ve built that foundation, then you can add your way of playing. Fans only care about results.”
