“I’m not suggesting that” – Chris Sutton reveals the name of the player that’s becoming a flop in the club recently

Chris Sutton Highlights Reo Hatate’s ‘Sluggish’ Start as Daizen Maeda Comes Under Fire
Celtic’s performances this season have lacked sharpness, with several players struggling to hit top form following a summer transfer window that left many fans frustrated with the board.

Chris Sutton, speaking on The Warm-Up, pointed out that Daizen Maeda has been “singled out” for criticism, but stressed he isn’t the only underperformer.

Sutton brought up Reo Hatate, suggesting the midfielder has also been well below his usual standards in the early part of the campaign.
“Maybe Maeda’s been singled out,” Sutton said.

“But if you look at Celtic in Europe this year, particularly in the forward areas, he’s one of many not delivering. And Reo Hatate, too — he’s started the season sluggishly.”

Hatate missed Saturday’s 0-0 draw with Hibernian due to injury, but featured against Red Star Belgrade in the Europa League, where he turned in a disappointing display.

Sutton admitted Celtic remain “a work in progress” as Brendan Rodgers tries to spark improvement across the squad.
