Major fitness boost for Celtic as key player edges closer to early return.

Celtic have received a major lift with the news that Alistair Johnston has returned to training, offering a much-needed morale boost amid a difficult spell for the Scottish champions.

The mood around the club has dipped following their Champions League exit, a disappointing transfer window, and a run of unconvincing performances.
Supporters are set to meet with the club on Monday to discuss ways to get things back on track and strengthen the relationship between fans and management.

While those off-field talks take place, Brendan Rodgers and his squad face the challenge of improving results on the pitch.

One ongoing issue has been the need to field a makeshift right flank due to Johnston’s injury and the lack of a replacement for Nicholas Kühn—a duo that proved crucial last season.
According to Sun Sport, Canada manager Jesse Marsch confirmed that Johnston has resumed light training as he works toward an early comeback from a hamstring injury.

“Alistair is already starting to get on the pitch and do some individual work.

And that should bode well for him potentially making an early return and being available for our games in November.”

It’s uncertain whether Celtic will allow Johnston to join up with the Canadian squad for upcoming friendlies, especially with several key fixtures looming, including the Premier Sports Cup semi-final against Rangers at Hampden.

Johnston has been a vital figure in Celtic’s success over the past three years and will be eager to pick up where he left off.

His absence has been noticeable, particularly in attack, though the recent rise of Colby Donovan has provided a welcome positive.
