After a great start to his career at Stuttgart, Bilal El Khannouss has revealed that he was “overthinking things” at Leicester City.
El Khannouss has scored three goals in just six games with the Bundesliga team, which is the same number of goals he scored in 39 games for City.
The goal he scored for his loan team helped them beat Heidenheim 1-0 and move up to fourth place in the Bundesliga table. All of the 21-year-old’s goals for Stuttgart have been like the one he scored to win the game for City against Tottenham: they were poked into the corner of the net. He thinks, though, that he’s playing differently now than he did at the King Power Stadium.
“I go with my gut,” El Khannouss told Sudwest Presse after his most recent win. “It was a little different last season.” I thought about things too much.
But that doesn’t mean El Khannouss is playing perfectly. This is all that manager Sebastian Hoeness can think about: what he needs to do better.
He said, “The balance between risk and clarity isn’t always right.” “One or two balls are lost too often.” We’ll help him with that.
Even though El Khannouss is only on loan at Stuttgart for now, City has the option to buy him back at the end of the loan period. This means that he has likely played his last game for City.
