Chief football correspondent Alex Crook delivers Brendan Rodgers future claims and reveals the names of the Premier League clubs the coach could leave too

According to talkSPORT, Brendan Rodgers may depart Celtic at the conclusion of the current season in order to resume his career in the Premier League.

Before departing for Leicester City, Rodgers had a highly successful first stint at Celtic Park from 2016 to 2019, which sparked controversy among fans. In 2023, he returned to Glasgow with the intention of re-establishing a relationship with his supporters. Since then, he has led the Hoops to consecutive domestic championships.

Upon his return, the Northern Irish manager signed a three-year contract that is set to expire next summer. Consequently, this campaign may be his final one in command of Celtic.

Alex Crook, the chief football correspondent for talkSPORT, has suggested that Rodgers may decide not to extend his contract and may instead return to England. Crook suggested that Crystal Palace, Fulham, Bournemouth, and Nottingham Forest could all be potential destinations for Premier League teams.

Crook elaborated:

“Brendan Rodgers’ contract expires at the conclusion of the season.” Based on the information I have received, there is an increasing suspicion that he may not renew his contract and may decide that it is the appropriate time to depart Celtic for a second time.
In the event that this occurs, he will be included on numerous Premier League shortlists. Oliver Glasner at Palace, Marco Silva at Fulham, and Andoni Iraola at Bournemouth are all approaching the conclusion of their contracts, which could result in a managerial merry-go-round in the upcoming summer. A coach with Rodgers’ qualifications could pique the interest of each of them.
Additionally, Nottingham Forest should not be disregarded; Evangelos Marinakis, the club’s proprietor, has consistently expressed his admiration for Rodgers.

Ange Postecoglou, the former Celtic manager, is currently under increasing pressure at Nottingham Forest due to his failure to secure any victories in his initial seven matches in command. The situation is reminiscent of his sluggish start at Celtic in 2021–22, although his position was not in significant jeopardy at that time.

According to The Athletic, ticket sales have decreased under Postecoglou’s leadership; however, the team continues to endorse him. The Australian-Greek coach’s efforts to reverse Forest’s fortunes may be significantly impacted by their forthcoming Premier League match against Chelsea.
