“angry and deflated” Rangers F.C. goalkeeper Jack Butland gave his verdict over their draw match against Dundee United and slams their performance with a honest message

Rangers goalkeeper Jack Butland didn’t hold back his frustration after his side’s latest setback at Ibrox, admitting he felt “angry and deflated” following the 2–2 draw with Dundee United.

One of Rangers’ few consistent performers this season, Butland spoke candidly after the match, describing his disappointment at seeing the team squander another lead under interim boss Stevie Smith.

“Angry — the same as everyone should be feeling,” Butland told Rangers TV. “Angry and deflated. I’m honestly struggling for words right now, just trying to gather my thoughts so I don’t say something I’ll regret.”

Rangers were in control for much of the first half, with Thelo Aasgaard opening the scoring with a brilliant strike. However, the hosts once again crumbled after the break, conceding twice in nine minutes before James Tavernier salvaged a late equaliser.

For Butland, the game summed up Rangers’ season — moments of promise undone by inconsistency and lapses in concentration.

“It’s a reflection of how we’ve been, to be honest,” he said. “The first half was really good, Thelo scored a great goal, and we had more chances. But then we switched off again.”

Butland’s brutally honest remarks cut through the ongoing debate about Rangers’ managerial situation, serving as a stark reminder that the club’s problems run much deeper than whoever occupies the dugout.
