The BC Lions wrapped up their regular season on a high note with a crucial road victory in Regina. Another stellar performance from Nathan Rourke powered BC past the Saskatchewan Roughriders, securing home-field advantage for next weekend’s playoff matchup.
Rourke came out firing and elevated his game even more after halftime, while the Lions’ defence dominated the turnover battle to help seal the win.
Here are three key stats from BC’s triumph:
1 – Lightning start
It took just one play from scrimmage for BC to hit pay dirt. Rourke found Ayden Eberhardt for a 63-yard touchdown to silence the Mosaic Stadium crowd. Eberhardt later struck again in the third quarter, finishing with 100 receiving yards and two scores.
4 – Saskatchewan giveaways
Although BC turned the ball over twice, they forced four takeaways from the Roughriders, including three consecutive turnovers across halftime. Jake Maier threw a pick and fumbled before the break, while Jack Coan was stopped short on third down in the third quarter. Saskatchewan’s last gasp on fourth down also failed, sealing BC’s win.
6 – Straight completions by Rourke
In the fourth quarter, Rourke orchestrated a flawless drive, completing six consecutive passes for 73 yards before connecting with Keon Hatcher Sr. for the game-winning touchdown — a drive that the Lions never looked back from.
