Fulham star reacts and delivers his verdict over what the NUFC midfielder Bruno Guimaraes did in Newcastle United defeat (2-1)

Newcastle United 2–1 Fulham: Bruno Guimaraes struck deep into stoppage time to hand Eddie Howe’s men a dramatic victory at St James’ Park.

The Brazilian midfielder reacted quickest to Bernd Leno’s save from substitute William Osula’s shot, calmly slotting home to send 52,000 Newcastle fans wild.

His 90th-minute strike secured the Magpies’ third Premier League win of the campaign and lifted them into the top half of the table.

After conceding late heartbreakers to Liverpool and Arsenal earlier this season, Newcastle finally enjoyed a change of fortune. Fulham, who won at St James’ Park last term, were left crushed after letting a valuable point slip away.

Reflecting on the loss, Alex Iwobi admitted the defeat stung deeply: “It felt like a dagger to the heart,” he told the club’s website. “We worked hard, created chances, and tried to hold on, but one lapse cost us. Still, we have to stay focused and go again next week.”

Newcastle now turn their attention to the Carabao Cup, where they host Tottenham Hotspur on Wednesday before travelling to face West Ham United on Sunday.
