Coventry City Frank Lampard emotional after son’s shocking decision causes family tension at Coventry City

Coventry City manager Frank Lampard’s wife, Christine, has shared a light-hearted family story — their son Freddie has chosen his favourite football colours, and it’s not quite the pick his dad was hoping for.

The Lampards are enjoying a bit of playful rivalry at home after four-year-old Freddie revealed his love for a different set of colours on the pitch. Frank, a Chelsea and England legend now thriving as boss of unbeaten Championship leaders Coventry City, might be winning on the field, but at home, he’s facing a friendly defeat.

Christine, who met Frank at the Pride of Britain Awards in 2009 before marrying him six years later, couldn’t help but smile as she talked about their son’s choice. The Northern Irish TV presenter admitted she feels a little proud that Freddie prefers the green Northern Ireland kit over England’s, even though a family member had gifted him a Three Lions shirt.

“My little boy’s obsessed with football kits — he wants to wear them every single day,” Christine said. “Right now, he’s all about the Northern Ireland strip, which is, of course, green.”
