Rangers Planning January Overhaul as Danny Rohl Targets Three Key Signings
Rangers are set to back new boss Danny Rohl in the January transfer window, with three major signings on his radar that could reshape their season.
Following the painful 3-1 extra-time defeat to Celtic in the Scottish League Cup semi-final, Rohl has already turned his attention to a full-scale squad reset. The German tactician, who recently replaced Russell Martin, has identified three crucial positions that need strengthening to revive Rangers’ title hopes.
With just 15 points from their first 10 league matches, the Light Blues sit third—five points behind Celtic and a worrying 14 adrift of leaders Hearts. Defensive lapses and a lack of consistency have been costly, something Rohl admits must be fixed fast.
At the top of his wishlist is a commanding centre-back, followed by a dynamic midfielder to replace Nicolas Raskin if he departs in January, and potentially a clinical striker to boost a misfiring attack.
Rangers chairman Andrew Cavenagh is said to have approved funding for this “season-defining” window, recognizing that the current squad remains incomplete.
Rohl insists there’s “no one way to play” — but fans at Ibrox know that this window could make or break his early tenure. Get it right, and the roar could return to Govan.
