The BC Lions will be missing one of the CFL’s elite linemen — and could also be without one of the league’s top running backs — for Saturday’s Western Final against the Saskatchewan Roughriders.
Offensive tackle Dejon Allen (arm) has officially been ruled out. The 31-year-old, named the CFL’s Most Outstanding Lineman in 2023, participated on a limited basis early in the week but sat out Thursday’s final practice.
Allen, who appeared in only five games this season, returned for BC’s final two regular-season matchups but missed last week’s semi-final victory over Calgary. Chris Schleuger once again is expected to step in at tackle.
Meanwhile, running back James Butler remains questionable with an ankle injury after being limited in practice all week. The 30-year-old delivered an outstanding 2025 season, ranking third in the league with 1,213 rushing yards and leading all players with 11 touchdowns. He also contributed 46 receptions for 439 yards and a score through the air, bouncing back from an injury-plagued 2024 campaign.
The Lions will also be without linebackers Adam Konar (arm) and Maxime Rouyer (hip), along with defensive lineman Tomasi Laulile (elbow).
