Bodø/Glimt boss Kjetil Knutsen has broken his silence on reports linking him with the Celtic post

Bodø/Glimt manager Kjetil Knutsen has addressed the latest speculation linking him with the Celtic managerial job, speaking after his side’s dominant 5–0 victory over Bryne on Sunday.

The Norwegian tactician has once again been mentioned as a leading candidate should Martin O’Neill’s interim tenureat Celtic Park come to an end after the international break. Knutsen’s reputation has continued to rise thanks to Glimt’s attacking brand of football and their sustained success both domestically and in Europe.

Speaking to TV2, Knutsen said:

“Nothing is certain in life. I am here now and I am happy, and then we can enjoy a nice football match. It is hopeless to answer about other clubs. I answer as I always do — if I leave, it should be for something that is more exciting than Glimt.”

Reports in both Scotland and Norway have suggested that Celtic are keeping close tabs on the 57-year-old, impressed by his consistency and the culture he has built in Bodø.

But true to form, Knutsen remained calm and grounded, avoiding any headlines and keeping the focus on his team.

His comments reflected both pride in his current project and quiet ambition for the future.

While he didn’t completely rule out a move, his words made it clear that only a truly special opportunity would tempt him away from Glimt — and that message will give Celtic much to ponder in their ongoing managerial search.
