The B.C. Lions’ season came to an end on Saturday, whether Amar Doman liked it or not, following a 24-21 loss to the Saskatchewan Roughriders in the West Final.
Despite the defeat, the first year under head coach Buck Pierce and general manager Ryan Rigmaiden was largely a success. B.C. finished the season strong, improving their record by two wins, earning a home playoff victory, and coming just one first down short of reaching the Grey Cup.
Several key players are already locked in for next season, including M.O.P. finalist quarterback Nathan Rourke, M.O.D.P. finalist pass rusher Mathieu Betts, and two-time All-CFL receiver Justin McInnis.
However, many other players will need new contracts in the coming months, including league-leading receiver Keon Hatcher.
